Menno B. Kuhns, 87, of Arthur passed away at 9:03 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 4, 2015) at his residence.

Menno was born Oct. 20, 1927 in Arcola. He was a son of Ben and Sadie (Yoder) Kuhns. He married Alma Kauffman on Sept. 11, 1947 in Arcola. She passed away on Jan. 17, 1990. He later married Esther Hershberger on July 25, 1991 in Montezuma, Ga.

He is survived by his wife Esther Kuhns; a daughter-in-law, Anna Kuhns; two daughters, Irene Kuhns and Edna Kuhns; two sons, Edwin (Leona) Kuhns and David (Dawn) Kuhns; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jerry Kuhns, Harvey (Verna) Kuhns, Abe (Dorothy) Kuhns, Omer (Barbara) Kuhns and Henry Kuhns; two sisters, Anna (Edward) Kauffman and Mary Miller and a sister-in-law, Georgia Kuhns.

Menno was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma; one son, Willard; his parents; one brother, Levi; a brother-in-law, Harvey Miller and a sister-in-law, Ann Kuhns.

He was called to the ministry at 26. He was active in this capacity for 61 years. He had great joy in being an active part in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bible schools and young people were close to his heart. He spent 40 years teaching at various Bible schools. He especially enjoyed this past year's harvest working with his family. His desire was to "wear out and not rust out." The family wishes to thank all those who helped us in this time of grief.
