CALLED TO HER REWARD

Mrs. Anna Rebecca Banks Passed
Away at Daughter's Home.

After patiiently suffering the past
two years, the life of Mrs. Anna Rebecca
Banks peacefully slipped away
to the eternal world last evening at
four-thirty o'clock, at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Benjamin W. Heck, on
East Seventeenth Street.

Mrs. Anna Rebecca Banks was a
daughter of William and Margaret
Brown McConahy. She was born in
Fulton county, September 10, 1846 and
for many years resided at Spruce
Creek, prior to coming to Tyrone in
1912 to make her home with her
daughter, Mrs. Heck. On December 23,
1863 she was united in marriage at
Huntingdon with William M. Banks,
who preceded her to the grave in 1912.

Ten children were born to the union
of William M. Banks and Anna Rebecca
McConahy, five of whom have
preceded the mother to the world beyond.
Those surviving are as follows:
Mrs. Benjamin W. Heck, Mrs. David
Rodgers, Mrs. Harry Weyer and William
Banks, of Tyrone and George W.
Banks of Altoona. Fifteen grandchildren,
ten great grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren, and a half brother, George W.
Price of Minnesota also survive. Mrs. Banks
was the last of her immediate family.

Very early in her girlhood days,
over in old Fulton county, Mrs. Banks
began her Christian life. She united
with the Methodist Episcopal church
and when she came to Tyrone seventeen
years ago she cast her lot with
the Columbia Avenue Methodist
church and for years was very active
in all brunches of the service. Her abiding
faith in the saving knowledge
of Jesus Christ was very precious to
her in the eventide of life. It was not
only a comfort to the one that has
gone away, but to those who gathered
around the bedside as the shadows
fell and as she passed through the
valley to the realms beyond. She was
a good woman, one who gave her best
service, her time, efforts and money
to the upbuilding of Christ's kingdom.
In the church, in the missionary so-
cieties, in Mrs. E. .J. Kennedy's Sunday
school class and in the Monday
Night class, she will be missed. Her
wonderful religious experiences in all
these were an inspiration to others
who follow in her trail.

Funeral servives will be conducted
by her pastor. Rev. George Duvall, in
the Columbia Avenue Methodist Episcopal
church on Sunday afternoon at
two o'clock. Interment will be made
in the family plot in Franklinville
cemetery.
