Jimmy "Crickett" Sandoval, 49 a resident of Las Vegas, passed away at his mother's home in Tierra Monte on Thursday following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Sandoval, Sr. and a sister, Elizabeth Sandoval.
He is survived by his loving mother, Maria Simonita Sandoval of Tierra Monte; two daughters, Shannon and Hope Sandoval of Albuquerque; his companion, Martha J. Lucero of Las Vegas; four brothers, Andrew Sandoval and wife Jane and Mario Sandoval and wife Debby all of Tierra Monte, Herman Sandoval Jr. and Leroy Sandoval and wife Loretta all of Las Vegas; five sisters: Anna Gutierrez and husband Moises of Trujillo, N.M., Eva Hertz, Mary Ann Lopez and husband Joe, and Rosie Sandoval all of Albuquerque, N.M., and Elizabeth Vigil and husband Arthur of Tierra Monte; aunts: Lucy Olivas and husband George of Commerce City, Colo., and Alise Martinez of Albuquerque, and by three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends.
Jimmy was a West Las Vegas High School graduate. He worked for Hankles and Accord Company, an underground cable company and Garcia Underground working with water systems in the Ledoux area. He was a carpenter by trade and worked on various housing projects. He was a ranch hand a wood vender. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He liked sports and was involved in Little League and received many trophies and was a most valuable player in high school. He was very loving, compassionate, and caring.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary at 7 this evening and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Isidro Catholic Cemetery near Manuelitas, N.M. Cremation has already taken place.
