Owen Pigman Adams, 79, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit in LaGrange. He was a retired manager for the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board, an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Stephensburg Masonic Lodge No. 212 F&AM and a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Sarah Adams; two brothers, Bert and Bill Adams; a sister, Kelsey Adams; and a stepson, Ronald Wayne Goodman. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia May Holbert Adams; a stepson, David Goodman and his wife Patricia of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Della Dexheimer of Radcliff and Hattie Adams of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and continues at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be given at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Lottie Moon International Missionary Fund. Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
