Mrs. Allyn was born in Vermont. The greater portion of her life was spent in New York state from whence she removed west in 1849. For 29 years she has been a resident of Minnesota, residing with her children, for the last few years with her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Taylor, at Elysian. She was the mother of W. G. Allyn and Mrs. Almeran Willsey, of this place, and was aunt to J. C. Easton, of La Crosse, Wis. Her whole life was one of devotion to religious principles, exemplifying the true Christian character and ever sustaining and upholding the Cross of Christ. She was a member of the M. E. Church and up to the hour of death, through and during a long period of extreme feebleness, as she grew weaker and weaker, her faith grew brighter and stronger, until she sank joyfully and peacefully to rest. The funeral services were conducted, Saturday, at Elysian by Rev. J. W. Cornish.
