Kathy Dinkins Bell, age 51, a native of Mobile, AL, born August 11, 1957, departed this life Sunday, August 2, 2009, at DeKalb Hospital in Atlanta, GA, surrounded by her very close family. She was preceded in Heaven by her sister, Hazel Mendenhall and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was a very strong, loving, caring, and organized person who will always be greatly missed and never forgotten. Kathy was a faithful member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Eddie L. Long, Sr. Pastor. She attended Vigor High School, Bishop State Community College, University of AL, and the University of South Alabama with a major in mathematics. She worked for Mobile Greyhound Park, Prairie View University, J.C. Penny's in New Orleans, Gourmet Services in Columbia, SC, and Macy's Department Store for many years. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving, devoted husband, Ronald Bell, Sr. and two adoring sons, Ronald Bell, Jr. and Christopher Bell, all of Stone Mountain, GA; father and mother, Isiah and Geneva Dinkins, Jr.; sisters, Edna Dinkins, Veronica (Bernard) Rogers, and Darlene (Derrick) Baker, all of Mobile, AL; father and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Dorothy Bell, Sr. of Mobile; brothers-in-law, Jimmie (Peggy) Bell, Jr. and Robert Mendenhall, both of Mobile and Jeffery (Darla) Bell of Auburn, GA; sisters-in-law, Lisa and Sonya Bell of Houston, TX; devoted friends, Clifford and Sheila Randle of Houston, TX; one devoted lifelong friend, Jacqueline Ellis of Washington, D.C.; one godson and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and many other family, friends, and loved ones. A memorial service will be held at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 8, 2009 after 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral hour at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Bay Bridge Road, Rev. A.J. Crawford, Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will follow in the Plateau Cemetery. Arrangements are under the careful direction of REESE FUNERAL HOME.
