WONG, Fay F. 10/7/33 12/19/10 Passed away peacefully at San Francisco Kaiser Permanente Hospital on December 19, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David Wong; son Alvin; daughter-in-law, Susan; grandsons, Kevin, Brandon, and Steven; and granddaughter, Kimberly. Fay was born in Hoy Ping County, Kwong Tung (Goungdong) Province, China on October 7, 1933 and is the older daughter of Wah Pon and How Guey Ting. She is survived by brother Chuck Pon and the late Edwin Pon; and sister Evelyn Wong, and sister-in-law May and Niphia; and brother-in-law Warren Wong; and two nephews and six nieces. Fay and her mother and brother Chuck came to San Francisco in 1947 to join her father. She was a very good daughter helping her parents in the laundry business and care for them. Fay was also a good sister to her brothers and sister. Fay went to Francisco Junior High school and Galileo High School and took some business classes at Healds College. She loved Chinese and studied in the Chung Wah Chinese High School where she met many good friends. She worked as a key punch operator for 76 Union Oil Company for many years. When her mother got sick she quit her job to care for her mother and later she took care of her grandchildren. Fay was a faithful member of the San Francisco First Chinese Baptist Church where she had wonderful times with many Christian brothers and sisters. Fay was always a very caring and thoughtful person. We will miss her and we will always love her. The family suggests memorial donations be made to S.F. First Chinese Baptist Church, 1 Waverly Place, San Francisco, CA 94108 or charity of your choice. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday Dec 24, from 1 to 2 pm, and the funeral service Sunday Dec. 26, 1:00pm at McAvoy O'Hara Company Evergreen Mortuary 4545 Geary Blvd (at 10th Ave.), San Francisco.
