Sylvester "Syl" Adamski, 86, Oslo, MN, died Friday, July 24, 1992, at home.

Sylvester Adamski was born May 23, 1906, the son of Felix and Pelagia Adamski, in Frazee, Minn. He moved with his family to Oslo and attended school there and in Crookston. He graduated from Aaker Business College, Grand Forks. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1942, and served in New Guinea, the Philippines, the Netherlands, the East Indies and Okinawa. After his discharge in 1945, he returned to Oslo and managed Adamski General Merchandise Store. He married M. Magdaline Gerszewski June 10, 1946, in Warsaw, N.D. He was employed in the civil service at Grand Forks Air Force Base until his retirement in 1977.

Survivors are his wife; son, Tim, Maple Grove, Minn.; daughter, Joan (Mrs. William) Hennessy, Goshen, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben, Adam and Ed; and sisters, Regina and Laocadia.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, 1992, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oslo. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Warsaw.
