Erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1909, the monument is dedicated to the over 1,500 soldiers who died of disease at Camp Beauregard Kentucky, during the Civil War. In 1930, the memorial was approved by the addition of a concrete base. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
