Lionel Betourne

DAVENPORT - Services for Lionel "Paul" Betourne, 76, of Davenport, formerly of Park View, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.


Visitation is 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with prayers said at 8 p.m.

Mr. Betourne died Tuesday at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

He retired in 1982 as a contract specialist after 33 years with the Department of Defense at Rock Island Arsenal.

Mr. Betourne married Juanita Werth in 1946 in Chicago.

During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport, and was a 4th degree knight with Knights of Columbus.

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Pamela Betourne, Tinley Park, Ill., and Ruth (Mrs. Rob) Medd, Coralville; a son, William, Shorewood, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
