Born May 30, 1933 in Monterey, he was the son of the late Washington and Nola New Atha. Also preceding him in death were his children, Vicki and Harvey Atha.
Bobby was a retired from Ancient Age Distillery where he was a carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, the Monterey Baptist Church and attended Swallowfield Baptist Church. He also served his country in the United States Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Janis Rhodes Atha; his sons, Wesley (Dale) Atha of Frankfort, Dennis Atha of Monterey and John Atha of Frankfort; his sister, Viola Johnson; his grandchildren, Janis, Dixie, Carl and Monya and his great grandchildren, Tori, Liam, Aiden and Ryland.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, January 10th from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Larry Gaines presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
