WICHITA, KAN. - Jene Heller Bailey Baker, 93, of Wichita, Kansas, homemaker and loving wife of Clealand F. Baker, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008.

Jene graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a B.S. in education in 1936. She and Clea were married on January 19, 1940 and were devoted to each other and their family during their 68 years of marriage.

Jene was a member of Theta Sigma Upsilon Sorority; National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution; Scarsdale Community Baptist Church, and the Scarsdale Woman's Club in Scarsdale, NY; The Study Club, Forest Hills Garden Club and Hope Valley Country Club in Durham, NC; Tallgrass Country Club and University Congregational Church in Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Bailey and sisters, Mary Moran and Lucille Moize.

Survivors: husband, Clealand F. Baker; two sons, Clealand F. 'Fred' Baker, Jr, (Elaine), Charles E. Baker (Jim), of Wichita; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
