She lived in Antlers area all of her life. She married Grover A. Bruce November 23, 1949. Mamie worked at the Downtown Diner, Bruce Bros. Gas Station, Jim Ray's Laundry, home on the ranch, as well as volunteering at Pushmataha Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to quilt, garden, travel, can anything and visit with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ethel Ray, husband, Grover A. Bruce, one son, Alford Dodson Bruce, two brothers, Marshall Ray and Melvin Ray, four sisters, Opal Ray Post, Ruth Ray Crawley, Helen Ray Jordan and Eula Ray McKee and two great-grandsons.
Mamie is survived by one daughter, Cairl Lee Bruce and husband Donald Collins, two sons, Ricky Lynn and wife Tammy Bruce and Harold and wife Anita "Jody" Bruce, all of Antlers, nine grandchildren, Donald Collins Jr. and wife Stacie, Duanita Collins Ayers and husband Jason, Stetson Bruce, Cherie Bruce Harvey, all of Antlers, Samantha Bruce of Leesburg, Texas, Chad and wife Jean Collins of Greenville, Texas, Ricky Danial Bruce, Virginia Bruce and husband Hollingback of Wilburton, Oklahoma and Clayton Bruce of Aline, Oklahoma, brother, Frank and wife Sonia Ray of Antlers, Oklahoma, two sisters, Willa May Orta of White Settlement, Texas and Beula Herman of Hood River, Oregon, eighteen great-grandchildren, caregiver, Arbelia Thompson of Reno, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Hall Baptist Church with Wesley Haddox officiating. Interment followed at Hall Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service.
Memorial arrangements have been entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Service in Antlers.
