GREENWOOD, SC - August 8 - Mrs. Kate Polattie Coleman, 59, wife of G. Lundy Coleman of the Utopia section of the county, died suddenly at her home this afternoon at 5:40 o'clock.

She was a daughter of the late Jacob Franklin Polattie and Lou Stainaker Polattie of well-known families of old Edgefield county.

Mrs. Coleman was a loyal member of the Damascus Baptist church, having united with the Baptist denomination in childhood.

Surviving are her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Broadus Alton, Mrs. S. W. Stockman, Mrs. Williard Skinner, Mrs. Frank Bowie and Miss Kathryn Coleman; three sons, Truman, Cpl. Arthur and Sgt. Allen Coleman; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. G. T. Ouzts and Mrs. Mary Lou Hollingsworth; two half-brothers, J. T. Powell and E. J. Powell.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Bold Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Lee Coker, Rev. A. D. Croft and Dr. G. H. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
