St. George, March 24th, 1897,--Sunday, March 21st, 1897, was a solemn day in the city of St. George, as on the evening previous Samuel L. Adams Jr, and nine of his children arrived here bringing with them the lifeless body of his beloved wife and the mother of his family, who died at Eureka, on the 16th of March, 1897, after a short illness.
As this was their home in life they could not consent to lay her away in any other place, but brought her
to where her many deeds of love had caused all to admire her; for it can in truth be said that to know her was to love her.
Eliza Ann, daughter of Isaac C. and Eliza Ann Price Haight, was born at Cedar City, on the 8th of May, 1858, and was married to Samuel L. Adams Jr., on
the 20th of May 1875; she died on the 16th of March 1897.
She leaves an aged mother, an affectionate husband, ten living children (one has preceded her to the spirit world), and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. May He who has said that a sparrow shall not fall to the ground without His notice be a father in (e)very deed and raise up friends to
motherless children.
