Grace E. Alley Porter, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in St. Louis University Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, with the Rev. Kent Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lone Oak Cemetery in Ava.

Mrs. Porter was retired from housekeeping at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was born Thursday, May 23, 1912, in Ava to William J. Crawford and Grace E. Brownsfield.

She married Oren B. Alley on Nov. 16, 1929, in Marion. He died Dec. 1, 1974. She later married Gilbert Porter. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Oren L. Alley of Murphysboro and Darrell L. Alley of Holts Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a close friend, Albert Alms of Campbell Hill.

Her parents, one brother and two half sisters also preceded her in death.
