Isom Adams II was the 14th and last child born to Isom Adams and Lydia Bilyeu Adams. He was born in the Prairieton Township area of Christian County, Illinois. He was a half-brother to Isabelle (Gorden) and a brother to Ellington Adams (who died in infancy), Josiah Adams, Lucy (Workman), Sarah (Mathes), Virenda (Bilyeu), Wilben Adams, James Adams, Minerva (Evans/Robbins/Snell), Thomas Jefferson Adams and Malinda (Bilyeu). He married Eva Tanner. They had four children: Hazel (Jackson), Beatrice (Pumphrey), Marie (Pumphrey) and Isom Adams III.
