Francis Armistead Bragg, wife of and buried beside Henry Allen Bragg, was Francis Ann Armistead, daughter of Robert "of the Cottage" Armistead and Frances "Fanny" Hislop (Heslope). She was born 11 Apr 1812 in Loudoun Co., VA and died 06 Feb 1879 in Shelby County, TN.

Her name was incorrectly listed as "Nancy Armistead" in THE ARMISTEAD FAMILY, 1635-1910 by Mrs. Virginia Armistead Garber and its update THE ARMISTEAD FAMILY AND COLLATERALS by Margaret Randolph Cate and Wirt Armistead Cate (pg 329). According to these books, "(235) Nancy Ann married Henry A. Bragg, of Norfolk, Va., February 15, 1832, and lived at Florence, Ala., till 1849, when they moved to Memphis, Tenn. "

The four graves (marked with engraved stones) of Henry Allen Bragg, Francis Bragg, Harriet Armistead and Edward Valentine Bragg were symbolically moved (and new stones made) from the homeplace, Hazelwood, in Arlington to Chambers Chapel Cemetery in the 1990s due to changing land development of the property by Frank T. Bragg and Billy Armstrong.
