Jacob married his second wife, Adelheid Faist, 16 May, 1864.
When he died in 29 Sep 1881 he was survived by his widow
and the following children:
Mrs. Louise (Charles C.)Westerhold, Mrs. Emilie Jäger, Mrs. Ida Prestzler,
Mrs. Marie Geiss, and Carl H. His widow mourned him for
ten years and then was married for a second time, 5 Jan 1891,
to the widower Joseph Obergefell.
Jacob ran a saloon at 333 West Market Street in Sandusky, Ohio
and rented out some of the upper rooms in the three story
building to boarders. He also lived here with his family,
as was customary with saloon keepers.
