Sarah Cox Forman

Her parents were Thomas Cox and Ann Briant Cox. Sarah was born in Little London, a hamlet and civil parish, which lies 3.5 miles north of Andover in Hampshire, England. There were twelve children in the Cox family, four died young, two went to the USA while the others remained in England or made their way to Australia or New Zealand. Sarah was the youngest in the family and lived with her married sister, Ellen, for a time following the death of their mother in 1887. Then she followed her sister, Hannah, to the States in 1892 and married John Forman in Salt Lake City on the second day of 1895. They had eight children; two of their four sons died in infancy and their daughter, Alice, at age seventeen. Sarah succumbed to typhoid fever in 1926, and died in Charleston on March 8, aged 59 years and nine months. Sarah’s sister, Hannah, after being widowed a second time, married John Forman, her former brother-in-law, in August 1930. After Hannah's death in 1939, John was married a third time, in 1943, to Martha Kezia Giles, who was the widow of Andrew Gustav Erickson.
