Elwood S. Bollinger, of Spring Grove, died April 7, 2010, in Hanover, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (LeFevre) Bollinger; they were together for over 25 years and would have celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary on April 8, 2010.
Elwood was born in Menges Mills. on November 21, 1929, the son of the late Elwood S. Bollinger, Sr. and Barbara (Hershey) Bollinger.
He worked as a fabricator for the former S. Morgan Smith, Allis Chalmers Inc, now Voith Hydro in York for over 35 years.
After he retired he worked part time as a courier for Farmers Bank for over 14 years.
Mr. Bollinger was a member of the Hanover Church of the Brethren and a former member of the Allen J. Beck VFW Post in Spring Grove and the Republican Club in Hanover. In his younger years he was an avid amateur photographer. In his retirement years he always had a hobby going, most recently he enjoyed woodworking and metal detecting.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his sons, Barry Bollinger and wife, Joy of Hanover, Jeffrey Bollinger and wife, Sandra of Florida, and Randy Bollinger of Arentzville; his daughters, Kim Wright and husband, Michael of New Oxford, and Lori Hoover of Hanover; his step-daughters, Christine Reinhardt of Hanover, and Tammy VanScyoc and husband, Michael of Church Road, VA; and his step-son, William Harrison and wife, Linda of Hanover. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one step grandchild; his brother, Roger Bollinger and his wife, Darlene of Hanover; his sister, JoAnn Wentz and her husband, Cletus of Spring grove; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elwood will truly miss his dogs Peanut and Toby.
He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Irene (Brown) Bollinger.
Interment was in St. Peter Lischey's Cemetery, Spring Grove.
