Charles L. Krout, Sr., 84, passed away on December 3, 2014, at Manor Care South in York. He was the loving husband of the late Anna R. (Reimold) Krout, who passed away in 2005.
Charles was born in Loganville on March 3, 1930, and was the son of the late Matilda (Godfrey) and John Krout. He worked for Eyster and Weiser in York and SKF Industries in Hanover and retired in 1992. He was a lifetime member of Hanover Evangelical Brethren Church. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and playing the guitar for his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Gregory A. Krout; his brothers, Paul, Arlie, Preston and Earl; and his sisters, Mary, Esther, Grace, and Dorothy.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of his life on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Hanover Evangelical Brethren Church, 925 Broadway, Hanover, with Pastor Paul Bundy officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife following the service at N. Codorus Meetinghouse Cemetery in Spring Grove. Family services are under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. of Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hanover Evangelical Brethren Church; or Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Road, Suite C, York, PA 17402.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lance Krout and wife Priscilla and Miguel Espada; his great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Stokes and husband Michael and Victoria Krout; his great-great-grandsons, Alex and Hunter; his sisters, Louise Raver and husband Tony and Ruth Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
