Mrs. Elmus Corbin, Harrison
Funeral services were held at Harrison March 17 for Mrs. Katherine Corbin, 85, of Mitchell. She died March 15, 1970 in a Scottsbluff Hospital.
The funeral was held at the Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Lee Gorman officiating and burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.
She was born Katherine, one of the youngest in the family of eight children of Lewis and Mary Gerlach on April 2, 1884, in Atlantic, Ia., and came to Western Nebraska with her parents at an early age and they settled north of Harrison. Kathrine followed her father as an employee in a store at Harrison owned by James H. Cook, the prominent frontier scout and stock grower. She married the late Elmus Corbin in Harrison on June 15, 1904, and they lived on a ranch south of Harrison until 1951 when they moved to Mitchell. Mr. Corbin died July 2, 1968 at the age of 94.
The couple observed their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary in 1968.
Survivors include three sons, George F., Seattle, Wash., Ben of Marsland and Lewis of Harrison; two daughter, Eleanor Anderson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Kathryn Thorson of Mitchell; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
