June 22, 1945 - May 25, 1972
David Eugene Rock, 26, New Paris, died at 7:30 a.m. today in Elkhart General Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday. He had been unable to work for the past month.
A native of Goshen, Mr. Rock was born June 22, 1945, and was married July 22, 1967, to Shirley Etsinger. She survives along with his father, Eugene Rock, New Paris; his mother, Mrs. Harriet Neff, two sisters, Miss Susan and Miss Donna, all of New Paris; and a grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Rock, also of New Paris.
Mr. Rock was employed by the Keene Products Company, Middlebury. He was a veteran and was a member of the American Legion, the New Paris Jaycees and the Union Center Church of the Brethren. He graduated in 1963 from New Paris High School.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen. The body will be taken to the Union Center Church of the Brethren to lie in state one hour before the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. E. Paul Weaver will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
