A native of Jasper, Ala.and the son of the late Wade and Judith Thompson-Roth, he had been a resident of Jackson since 1921. He had been employed by A.L.Fall mason contractors for over 30 years. He died from injuries sustained in a fall when a brick wall which he was building collasped in a sudden gust of wind.He was on the scaffolding at about 38 feet high when he made an effort to steady the wall and lost his balance, falling with the bricks.He was a Vetern of WW II and a Methodist.
His first wife Alma Mauline Bryant-Payne also of Jasper, Al.died in 1942 and his stepdaughter Bertha Lee Payne- McCraw of Meridian, Ms.died in 1966,and his older brother Paul Thompson died in 1928 from injuries sustained in a automible accident.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years Ann Huffstickler - Bowen-Thompson; stepdaughters,Mrs.Bobbye Ann Bowen-Ford-Hendershot of Souturce,P.R.and Mrs. Mary Gean Reed of Vicksburg,Ms.four brothers, Wade Thompson of Mobile, Al.;Frank Thompson and Roy Roth both of Jackson and Lawrence Roth of Baton Rouge, La.and a sister Mrs. Annie Breazeale of Jackson. He touched so many lives and his step children and step grandchildren will always be grateful for the influence he had in their lives. He will be missed by family and many friends.
