Stella Manchini, 84, of Natrona, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, with family at her side in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights. Stella was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Natrona, the daughter of the late Casimer and Felixa (Jankowski) Karpinski. Mrs. Manchini enjoyed being a homemaker and cooking Polish food for all to savor. She also liked to play bingo. She was a member of St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph Parish, Natrona, and a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Natrona. She frequently volunteered at the former St. Joseph Elementary School, Natrona. Spending time with her family is what she cherished the most. Survivors include her daughters, Carol (R. Edward "Ned") Pfundt, of Penn Hills, and Cheryl (Richard) Hines, of Brackenridge; grandchildren, Christa Lyn (Tom) Savage-Randolph, of North Side, John Henry Manchini, of Gibsonia, R.J. Hines, of Brackenridge, and Ashley Hines, of Brackenridge; and a great-granddaughter, Keely Savage, of Penn Hills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Manchini, on July 6, 1986; her son, Henry J. Manchini Jr., on May 28, 2007; her brothers, Stephen Karpinski and John Ignatious "Iggy" Karpinski; and sisters, Catherine Klemzak, Josephine Drupesky and Sophie "Steffie" Boroson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the PAUL R. AJAK FUNERAL HOME INC., 2 Pine St. and River Avenue, Natrona, where parting prayers will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, 48 Spruce St., Natrona. Officiating will be the Rev. Ed. Czemerda. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
