Helen was the daughter of Alois Willi and Helen Schleischer, and wife of Robert Arthur Losey, whom she married on October 12, 1957 in Smithtown, New York, and mother of Mark Arthur Losey.

Her father, Alois Willi, born in Durrwangen, Germany on November 5, 1905 in Duerrwangen, Germany, a steamfitter, came to the U.S. on November 24, 1924, at the age of 18, aboard the vessel Albert Ballis, which sailed from Cuxhaven, Germany to New York, New York, travelling from the home of his cousin, Josef Auerhammer, Flotzheim, Germany, to the home of his uncle, Jacob Gulde, 202 Astoria Avenue, Corona, Queens. He had $25 in his pocket and was shown to be a farm laborer.

He declared his intention to become a naturalized citizen on April 7, 1926 at the U.S. District Court of Brooklyn, New York. He stated that he was married to Helen, whom he married on March 14, 1932 in Long Island City, New York and that she was born at Plauen, Germany on July 28, 1905. They resided at 112-66 Astoria Avenue, Corona, Queens, New York.

In 1940, Helen Willie, aged 1, born in New York, was living on Astoria Blvd., Queens, New York, with her parents, Alois Willie, aged 32, born in Germany, and Helen Willie, aged 32, born in Switzerland. Her father was shown to be a steam fitter with a private practice and they were boarding in the home of Carl Hiller Sr.

Marriage - Losey - Willi - Miss Helen Willi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alois Willi, of Washburn St., Lake Grove, became the bride of Robert Losey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Losey of East Islip in an afternoon wedding on Saturday, October 12, and St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lake Ronkonkoma. The Rev. Charles Noser performed the marriage ceremony before the altar decorated with white seasonal flowers. The bride was escorted to the alter by her father. She wore a lovely cocktail length gown with a nylon draped neckline and drape flowing down the back. The skirt was bouffant and billowy. Her veil was attached to a crown of pearls. She carried a white prayer book amongst a setting of white gardenias. Mrs. Barbara Ritter of Patchogue was the matron of honor. She wore a cocktail length gown with full skirt and a large bow accented the neckline. The gown in two shades of blue was complimented with a matching small hat. She carried a bouquet of autumn flowers with blue ribbons. Robert Johnson of East Islip was the best man. The bride's mother wore a wine velvet dress with a large satin bow accenting the bodice front. The dress had long sleeves. She wore a corsage of white roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a bright green dress with low neckline and a corsage of yellow roses. The reception was held following the ceremony at the Stay-A-While Restaurant in Lake Grove. There was about 200 guests. The center of the bridal table was a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake which was cut by the bride as part of an impressive cake cutting ceremony. The bride threw away the traditional garter and bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Seton Hall High School and was employed by the Peoples National Bank in Seldon, prior to her marriage. The bridegroom attended schools in East Islip, spent several years in the service of his country and is at present employed by the Todd Shipyard in Patchogue. After the young couple return from a honeymoon to parts unknown they will reside in Patchogue.

They lived at Canaan Lake, New York (North Patchogue), at the time their son was born at Mather Memorial Hospital, Port Jefferson in 1958. Her father was shown to have lived in Lake Grove.
