STANFORDVILLE – Lillian Brennan, 90, of Stanfordville, died Jan. 31, 2001, at home. Mrs. Brennan was a school teacher for Pine Plains Central School District. She was the first kindergarten teacher in the Stanford Union Free School District, retiring in 1969. She was a former member of the Stanford Free Library Board of Trustees, served on the first Stanford Recreation Committee and helped establish the first recreation center in the town. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bangall. Born Sept. 11, 1910 in Stanfordville, she was the daughter of James and Margaret Mulcahy Pinkman. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and New Paltz Normal School. She married James E. Brennan on Oct. 3, 1936 in Bangall. Mr. Brennan predeceased her on March 24, 1991.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Spohr of Altamont, Margaret Ann (Ted) Luty of Hyde Park, and Judith Brennan of Stanfordville; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Thomas F. Brennan of Clinton Corners. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bangall.
