George W. Muttart was born in New Jersey and lived in Rutherford for more than 50 years before moving to California four years ago. Before retiring, he was an elevator inspector with the Watson Elevator Co. in New York. He was a member of the Boiling Spring Lodge (Masons) No. 152 F&AM and as a fireman with the Rutherford Fire Department Co. No. 2 for many years.
His wife, Lillian died in 1974.
Mr. Muttart is survived by a son, George Gordon of Long Valley; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Weintz of Cupertino, Cailf; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford, New Jersey.
