Berdie Ruth Bruce 1931 - 2010 Viewing is Tuesday, June 8, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., with a Graveside service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park for Berdie Ruth Bruce, 78, who died June 3, 2010 in Bakersfield. Rev. Clarence McCain will officiate. Berdie was born on August 10, 1931 in Kiowa County, Oklahoma to Dewey and Stella Ross. She was last employed at Memorial Hospital/CPD for 15 years before retiring in 2003. Survivors include her daughter, Jean Black and husband Larry; grandsons, Darin Black and wife Jennifer, Scott and Pat Black, and Kevin Black; great grandchildren, Brett, Ashley and Jared Black, all of Bakersfield; sister, Ann Cantrell and husband Bob and brother, Albert Ross both of Emmett, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years Bobby Bruce; sister, Margie Risner and Maxine Wray. Special thanks to Laurie, Jennifer and Carolyn of Optimal Hospice.
