~Andrew Jackson "Jack" Branson (1890-1961);
~"Robert" William Branson (1893-1973);
~"Myrtle" Branson (m: Pratt) (1896-1955).
_______________________
WILLIAM BONNER worked for the railroad in KY & IN. He died on 1-8-1899 @ Central City, Muhlenberg Co., KY. When he died so young, he left MATTIE a widow with 3 young children.

MATTIE was crippled & could not monetarily nor physically care for her 3 small children alone. Jack was 7 or 9 depending on his birth year, Rob was 7, & Myrtle was 3. They went to live @ the Catholic Orphanage in Louisville, KY. MATTIE's plan was to remarry & retrieve her 3 children from the orphanage.
-----------------------------------
Her second marriage to L. W. Middleton did not help her achieve her plan to retrieve her 3 children from the KY Orphanage. "MATTIE & Leonard Wise Middleton" had 1 CHILD.

~"Ruth" Middleton was born on Nov. 7, 1903 in McGregor, McLennan Co., TX.

Daughter "Ruth" was 3 when her father died in 1906. Now, MATTIE had 4 children who were "fatherless": 1 child "with her" & 3 "in the Orphanage".
----------------------------------
MATTIE met "Francis Luther Woods" who was a widower with several children of his own. He lived in Fannin Co., TX. He & Mattie went to Louisville, KY @ Christmas of 1907 & retrieved the 3 Branson children (Jack, Rob, & Myrtle) from the orphanage where they had been since 1899 (7+ years). The following day, 12-26-1907, MATTIE married Luke Woods with her 4 children present for the ceremony. When her youngest child was 17 in 1920, Luke Woods died. He had rescued MATTIE & her children, gave them a stable & loving home, & finished raising the 4 children to maturity. Everyone LOVED the generous & honorable Grandpa Woods! No-doubt, WILLIAM BONNER loved & appreciated what he had done for his family, too!
_______________________
"Mattie Emma Williams Branson-Woods" was a loving mother who did the best she could for her children, & they all loved & respected her & her decisions concerning them.

Once-again, MATTIE was left a widow when her beloved F. L.(Luke) Woods died in 1920.

My Grandfather Rob Branson & his family would often travel to "Boswell, OK" to visit his mother & his step-father. Rob remained in Monkstown, Fannin Co., TX until his death. Mattie's 2 daughters often visited Boswell, OK, too. Both MYRTLE & Ruth M. Greenwood lived in the Ft. Worth, TX area until their deaths. But, Jack Branson settled in the Louisville, KY area after WWI where he remained until his death. The 4 children were close-to-one-another until their deaths.
