Wayne G. Armstrong Jr., 49, of 1856 Meadville Road, Titusville, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, at his residence.
Wayne was born on June 2, 1962, in Titusville, a son of Christine Jacobson Armstrong Childs and the late Wayne G. Armstrong Sr.
Wayne was a graduate of Maplewood High School, Class of 1980. He had been currently employed at Allegheny College in Meadville. He had previously been employed at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville.
Wayne was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Christine and Arden Childs, of Titusville; a daughter, Catherine Hanson and husband, Timothy, of Newport News, Va.; a grandson, Timothy Hanson; two sisters, Brenda Armstrong, of Titusville, and Tracy Smith, of Hydetown; two stepsisters, Kathy Leonard and Lorraine Faunce, both of Townville; a stepbrother, James Faunce, of Townville; two adopted brothers, Richard and Steve Armstrong; and a nephew, Jimmy Myers.
In addition to his father, Wayne was preceded in death by a stepsister, Caroline Hengle.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, in Titusville, on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. A private interment will be in Diamond Cemetery.
