Bart Jeffery Betenson, age, 32, passed away on January 16, 2015 in St. George, UT. He was born in St. George on March 29, 1982 to Jeffery and DeAnn Mackelprang Betenson.
He attended school in St. George and graduated from Pine View High School 2000.
He married Jennifer Miller in Las Vegas, NV on March 9, 2005.

Bart worked as a group Supervisor at the Caliente Youth Center. Although working in Youth Corrections is a difficult job he mentored and loved the youth with whom he worked. He went above and beyond the normal duties to help them any way he could.

Words cannot fully explain how outstanding he was as a father and husband. He will be sorely missed by all of us. All the way up to the end of his life he was doing everything that he loved to do in regard to his hobbies and with his wife and children. His life was centered on caring for his family.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Dee Parry Mackelprang, Cora Mackelprang and Blaine Betenson.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Douglas Maddux, Kade Maddux, Sierra Maddux, Carson Maddux, Kassidy Maddux, Keely Betenson, Kerra Betenson, Tristan Betenson, and Presley Betenson; grandson, Kanye Maddux; parents, Jeff and DeAnn of Washington, UT; sisters, Megan (Brady) Weaver of Enterprise, Kelsey (Storm) Singleton of St. George, Bailey Betenson, Pinedale, WY; grandmother, Shirley Betenson, of Cedar City, UT.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT. Viewings will be Wednesday, January 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury’s and on Thursday, January 22 from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m., prior to services in the mortuary. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
