George Staton married Minerva Ann Dillingham on 22 Oct 1835 in Liberty, Casey Co., Kentucky. They moved to Carroll County, Missouri sometime between 1835 and 1850. This Union produced 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters. Two daughters died in Missouri, Sarah Ann B 1843 - D 1855 and Ellen Norah B 1849 - D 1852. In 1857 their last child was born, Nancy Emeline, in 1858 the family moved to Scyene, Texas in Dallas County. Two oldest sons fought in the Civil War, Joel Drake for the Union and Warren W in the Confederate. After the war both sons returned home to Scyene, TX where Joel Drake was appointed to Postmaster. Warren owned land and raised horses.

Dallas, TX land rolls show George Staton was land owner in 1883, ownership was tranfered to Mrs. MAS (Minerva A Staton) by Feb. 1884. She applied for her son Joel Drake Staton's union veterans pension in Feb 1884.
