Ethel (Boynton) Peck, 93, of Woodland Road, Madison, died Tuesday, (September 19, 2000) after suffering a stroke. She was the wife of the late William ''Cliff'' Peck. She was born December 31, 1906 in South Coventry, daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Avery Boynton. She lived in several towns in Connecticut including Madison, before settling in East Lyme, where she and her husband owned and operated a large chicken farm for 20 years. The Pecks retired to Plymouth, ME, to pursue their love of fishing and visited many of the lakes in Maine. Both were well known at Cobb's Camp at Pierce Pond in North New Portland, her husband's favorite lake. He fished there nearly every year and occasioned as an expert guide. Ethel returned to Madison after the death of her husband. She is survived by a son, Richard Peck of Newport, ME; three daughters, Barbara Coulter of Alberta, Canada, Beatrice Hagele of Satsuma, FL, and Bessie Nilson of Port St. Lucie, FL; a brother, Russell Boynton of Manchester; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 8 p.m., at The Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, Madison. Friends may call at the funeral home, prior to the service, 7-8 p.m. A private burial will be held in Plymouth, ME, at a later date. (Hartford Courant, The (CT) - Tuesday, September 26, 2000)
