Died at age 84 years. Born in LaPatre, Quebec son of Etienne and Clara (Belanger) Brochu. Mr. Brochu came to the United States at a young age and worked in lumber camps in the New England area. He married Bella (Bedard) on April 29, 1935 and served in the US ARmy during World War II until 1945. Fro several years he operated a farm and retired in 1958 then worked for several contractors in the area. In 1973 he opened the Belles Antique Shoppe in Derby Line, VT. He collected pocket watches and also repaired watches and clocks.
He is survived by 14 children: Eva Tetreault of Ellsworth, ME., Anna Sanville of Newport Center, Clara Morris of Ellsworth, ME., rita Choquette of Derby, Maria-Pete Buck of Newport Center, Lea Sykes of Derby, Rene Brochu of Newport Center, Gerard P. of Newport Center, Stephen of Derby Line, Martha Dupont of Meriden CT, Alfred of Randolph, Tess Round of Newport, Patricia Mann of Newport, John of Derby Line. Also 37 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Also three brothers: Rene, Emile and Gaston all of La Patrie, Quebec; two sisters, Eva Trembley and Entoinette Brochu both of Sherbrooke, Quebec. He was predeceased by 2 brother, Joseph and Wilbrod and 2 sisters, Amanda and Gertrude Brochu.
