Vivian passed away at her home surrounded by her family. For the past 18 months, she fought gallantly against pulmonary fibrosis. Vivian was born to Thee Osa McCarty and Robert Jeff Davis. She is survived by her husband William L. (Bill) Clayton with whom she recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by one daughter Susan Clayton and sons Larry Clayton and wife Janie, Mark Clayton and Wendy Balentine; 6 grand children: William Clayton, Austin Clayton, Ross Clayton, Angela Clayton, Trevor Clayton, and Audrey Balentine. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Robert G. Davis and wife Dorothy of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Sister-in-law Martha Bethke of Blanco, Texas. She also, has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Vivian will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her ready smile and sense of humor were with her to the end. She made friends easily and cherished them always. Vivian graduated from Delta State University in 1949, and moved to Houston for a one year course in Medical Technology at the old Jeff Davis Hospital. She is a registered Medical Technologist and worked at Jeff Davis, St. Lukes, Heights, and Center Pavilion Hospital. During a "one year" stay in Houston, she met Bill Clayton; they were married August 20th, 1952. She was a vital part of Bill's career; following him to Rolla, Missouri, Houston, New Braunfels, and Orange Texas, as well as Shreveport Louisiana. Vivian was a charter member and active supporter of the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church. Over the years, she was a Brownie Scout Leader, Little League Booster, Girls Softball Score Keeper, Westchester Wildcat Booster, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Fonn Villas Women's Club and Bridge Club.
