The son of Robert Cameron and Roxie Jones.
In 1941 Roxie and the kids moved to Central Valley, California. Now known as the City of Shasta Lake
In 1945 during WWII, Melvin, along with his Brother, Hershel, were drafted along with thousands of other young men.
Both Melvin and Hershel were sent to Germany. Both of them became medics. Aiding the wounded in the field. Saving the lives of their fellow soldiers.
The first part of February, 1945 found Melvin at the Battle of the Bulge, where he lost his life.
He was returned to California and laid to rest at the Golden Gate National Cemetery.
To this day, his headstone shows him as being Jewish when he was Christian.
Repeated attempts to have this changed have proved to be a valiant, but, fruitless effort.
He was missed by his Mother and Siblings until the day they left this Earth to join him on the Other Side
