Roxie was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. She moved to Central Valley, CA (now Shasta Lake) in the 1940's from Oklahoma with her 2 sons, Melvin and Hershel and daughter, Geraldine after she was abandoned by her husband, Robert. She spent her time raising her children, working at a number of menial jobs and being a wonderful friend and church member. She was well known for always having Sweet Tea in the refrigerator, fruit cobbler in the oven and a pot of beans on the stove.
