Maurine Alford, 83, of Tenaha, Texas died Wednesday, June 18, at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A native of Sabine County, she had lived most of her life in Evadale and Buna. She was a retired 3rd grade teacher at Evadale Elementary School with 34 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Alford; and parents, William and Lillie McGowen. Survivors are nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews
