Mrs. Emil Bardill of Chico, California, died in January after a long illness. Alice Ochsner is the daughter of Adolph and Emma (Guehler) Ochsner of Waumandee. She was well known in the Waumandee area as her father owned the flour and feed mill there. She attended the Waumandee rural school, and graduated from Alma High School in 1910.
The family moved to San Jose, California in 1912, where she graduated from San Jose Normal School in 1913, and then attended the University of California and graduated in 1917, after which she taught school for a while.
She married Emil Bardill, who was born in Alma and grew up there. He was employed by the Chico newspaper as a printer. Emil and Alice were living in Chico, California.
Alice was active in the Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Camp Fire Girl program.
She was survived by her husband, her twin sister Olive (Joe) Poeschel of Chic, and three sisters in San Jose, Mrs. Hettie Hauert, Mrs. Laura Hall and Mabel (Clarence) Dorsey.
