Russell Orin Baxter, age 69, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on March 7, 1942 to William and Elaine (Grim) Baxter in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Russell retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department (Washington Township) in 1998 after 25 years of service, having been an arson investigator for 14 of those years.

While a member of the IFD, he also served as a Marion County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the North Park Masonic Lodge (Indianapolis); the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis; and was a member of the Original Circle City Corvette Club.

He is survived by wife, Sharon Baxter; daughters, Michele (Boyd) Minton & Amy Wright; stepson, Chris (Jenny) Garner; step-daughter, Felicia (Kuanh) Frances; and ten grandchildren, Erik, Sammi, Nick, Miranda, Daniel, Madison, Arianna, Kalisea, Imari & Shaela.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home , 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
