Waynetown, June 22 --- Charles A. Blackford was found dead in a field on his farm near here Monday afternoon, apparently a victim of heart trouble.
Mr. Backford had been in failing health the past year. He went to his farm Monday afternoon and when he failed to return home for his supper, his son, Ariel, started in search of him, finding his father's body in the field.
Deceased was born February 2, 1858, near Waynetown, the son of John and Elizabeth Knox Blackford. He was married in March, 1888, to Emma Brown. his entire life was spent in Montgomery County.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Ariel and Gilbert; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Smith of Danville and Mrs. Orville Wendell of Wallace and four grandchildren.
funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Waynetown Baptist church rev. Cletis Brown officiating. Interment at the Waynetown cemetery.
