Carpenter, Elizabeth Beach, formerly of Coshocton, OH, passed away on May 8, 2002. She was active in the Florida Philharmonic, Opera Guild, Broward County Medical Association's Women's Auxiliary, Red Cross, and was a devoted Altar Guild member of both St. Mark's and All Saints Episcopal Churches when she was able to so serve. She was a graduate of Purdue University, and was a dedicated, vibrant volunteer with numerous other charities and philanthropic organizations during her time in Ft. Lauderdale. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who became fortunate to share their lives with her gracious, generous spirit. She is survived by her husband, N. Harry Carpenter; her sons, Edward J. Carpenter and James W. Carpenter of Ft. Lauderdale, Henry B, Carpenter of Castle Rock, CO; her daughter Elizabeth B. Hines of Waynesville, NC; and nine loving grandchildren. She was known by many names, MaryLiz, Liz, Mom, and Grandma Liz, but all who knew her knew love defined. The family will be receiving friends at the BAIRD-CASE FUNERAL HOME at 4343 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale on Friday, May 10, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Memorial Service to be held the following day, Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 11:00 AM at St. Marks' Episcopal Church, with Father Ralph Evans presiding.
