Laura Belle Justice Oliver was born November 2, 1874, in Otoe county, Neb., Her father was the Rev. Henry Justice, a United Brethren Minister; her mother was Mary Elizabeth Frazier Justice.
At the age of three Mrs. Oliver came to Republic county, Kan., and at a very early age became a member of the Round Grove United Brethren church. She was married May 3, 1900, to David S. Oliver and they made their home in the Haworth community.
She is survived by her husband and three daughter, Mrs. Don D. Ballou, Mrs. Marion Donoho and Mrs. Gilbert Henry, all of Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, Cpl. Joy Oliver, U.S. army in Italy, and Cpl. Harold Oliver, U.S. army, Stout Field, Ind.; two grandchildren, Arthur D. Ballou, U.S. navy, Del Monte, Cal., and Mrs. Mary Jeanne Spillman, West Newton, Mass.; two brothers, Alfred M. Justice, Madrid, Neb., and Lewis W. Justice, Narka, Kan.; and a niece D. D. Jameson of Belleville, Kan.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver lived in Manhattan, Kan., for 23 years and returned to Belleville to make their home on November 1 of this year. Mrs. Oliver died December 13 in Bethany hospital, Kansas City, Kan., after a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted in Manhattan on December 15 by the Rev. D. A. Rogers and a short service was held in the Bachelor-Faulkner funeral home at Belleville by the Rev. Harold B. Hotchkiss and interment was made in the Ida cemetery near Munden December 17.
