Mary Myrtle (Adamson) Hopkins
Mary Myrtle (Adamson) Hopkins died in December 12, 1978.
She was born in 1891 in Fulton Township, Webster Co., Iowa, one of six children of Levina Ellen (Bennett) and Ellis Nathan Adamson. She was a graddaughter of Nathan and Amy Jane (Stanley) Adamson of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert W. Hopkins, her parents, and all five of her siblings: Martin Ernest Adamson, Sr., Leona E. (Adamson) Burgess; Everett Hiram Adamson; Fred Dail Adamson, and Chester C. Adamson.
At the time of her death, she was survived by her daughter, Nellie (Hopkins) (Johnston) Lofgreen as well as two grandchildren, Larry Johnston (Jacqueline) of Rockford, Ill. and Carol Mock (Tom) of Ottawa, Kansas. Nellie died Monday, October 10, 2005 at her home in Ottawa.
During the early years of her marriage, Myrtle and her family lived in Detroit, Michigan from approximately 1925 through 1931 before returning to Ottawa. After her husband's death Myrtle and her daughter lived for a time with her parents on the family farm five miles northwest of Ottawa (Franklin Co.), Kansas. At the time of her brother Fred's death in 1955, she was living in Colgate, Wisconsin, probably with her daughter Nellie.
She is buried adjacent to her parents in Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
