Sr Mary Anthony was born on April 16, 1919, to Anthony and Mary Korczak in Joliet IL. She attended Holy Cross School and St. Thaddeus School. She was one of 11 children, 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Sister Mary Anthony is survived by her 2 sisters, Frances and Josephine and brother, John. Sister worked as a factory worker most of her life. She was a Third Order Franciscan before she entered the Monastery on December 7, 1958. She received the Visitation habit on June 20, 1959; made her First Vows on July 16, 1960 and Solemn Vows July 16, 1963. This year she would have celebrated her Golden Jubilee of Profession. During these 51 years, Sister served God and her sisters in the Wardrobe, Host Room, Infirmary, and Laundry. The Monastery wishes to thank the Sylvania Franciscan Sisters for the devoted and loving care our Sister received throughout the many years she was with them. May God bless and reward them.
