OBIT News Tribune (Tacoma) on 9/8/2004. William H. (Bill) McHaney Of Chelan, WA, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2004. He was born on June 1, 1920, the second of eight children of Walter and Beatrice McHaney. Bill graduated from Stadium High School in 1938 and, until moving away from Tacoma in 1953, was a member of First Christian Church. On Oct. 11, 1941, he married Lorraine M. Carlson of Tacoma, a partnership of nearly 63 years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lorraine; 2 daughters, Diane (Dave) Maxwell and Cheryl (Joe) Maxwell; 5 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grand- son; 3 brothers, George, Charles and Darrell McHaney; 2 sisters, Alice Krebs and Joyce Knaggs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2:00 PM at the North Shore Bible Church, 123 Wapato Point Parkway, Manson, WA. Donations may be made to the Lake Chelan Community Hospital/Hospice, PO Box 908, Chelan, WA. Precht Rose Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

The Wenatchee World, Wed, Sep 8th gave the additional info: After serving in the US Air Force during WWII, he began his career with Meadowsweet Dairies in Tacoma in 1948 and transferred to Wenatchee in 1953 to manage the dairy there. In 1962, when Formost purchased Meadowsweet, Bill and his family moved to the LA area with his promotion to Retail Sales Manager. In 1970, Bill made a career change, accepting Secretary/Manager of the 48th Agricultural District of the State of California. During his tenure he developed the agricultural display for the Los Angeles Museum of Science & Industry. Bill retired from the State of Calif in 1987, but agreed to manage the Industrial Council for the City of Commerence, CA for a short time. He retired from that the in the spring of 1990 and they moved to Chelan. In May 2004, they move to Manson.
