Sidney E. Gatewood, age 90, a 60 year resident of Roseville, passed away on March 24, 2012. He was born September 3, 1921. Sidney retired from Borg Warner after 38 years of service. He was also a member of the Inventors Association of Metropolitan Detroit. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy, married over 60 years. Loving father of Tom (Rebecca) Gatewood, Dan (Kelly) Gatewood, and Marianne Schafer. Grandfather of Chris McBride, Mirvat Josey, Manal Jomaa, Mouna Osman, Maia Jomaa, Malak Jomaa, Maha Saoudi, Carina Gatewood, Natasha Gatewood, and Ryne Schafer. Great-grandfather of 13 and one on the way. Predeceased by his children, Terry Gatewood, Ronald Gatewood, and Kathy Stafford, and siblings Ruth Eisneman and Harold Gatewood. Visitation Tuesday, 2-8 p.m. at S. K. Schultz Funeral Home, 21705 Gratiot at 8 1/2 Mile, Eastpointe, with a scripture service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Instate Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Angela Catholic Church, 25272 Chippendale Street, Roseville, until funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Sidney's memory to the Children's Leukemia Foundation.
