Mary E. Garman was born Eva Maria Germann on 25 Dec. 1822 in Brandau, Hessen (then part of the Grand Duchy of Hessen-Darmstadt) daughter of Johann Philipp Germann and Catharina Margaretha Ross. The family emigrated in 1830 to Franklin Co., Pa. then Wayne, Stark and Cuyahoga Cos., Ohio.She m. 8 Feb. 1848; Martin Brenneman Jr. there. The family moved to Bureau Co., Ill. in 1855 where they farmed. They moved to Princeton after his retirement and she d. there on 15 Oct. 1900.
